FILTER Frontman And Wife Welcome Baby
February 26, 2008According to The Pulse of Radio, FILTER mainman Richard Patrick and his wife Tina welcomed their first child into the world on Saturday night (February 23). Sloan Luella Patrick weighed in at six pounds, 15 ounces and is said to be doing fine.
FILTER has set May 13 as the release date for the band's first album in nearly six years, "Anthems for the Damned". A single called "Soldiers of Misfortune" will arrive at rock radio stations shortly. Patrick's last effort under the FILTER name, "The Amalgamut", came out in mid-2002, after which Patrick spent some time away from the public spotlight to get sober before returning in late 2006 with ARMY OF ANYONE. That project, which also featured Robert and Dean DeLeo of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, issued one album and toured for several months before going on hiatus.
Patrick recently described "Anthems for the Damned" as his "howl in the night," with a press release calling it "a harsh indictment of civilization that doesn't exclude himself from its vision of a world falling apart."
"Anthems for the Damned" features guest appearances from ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5, former LIMP BIZKIT axeman Wes Borland and A PERFECT CIRCLE/NINE INCH NAILS drummer Josh Freese.
Patrick will unveil the touring lineup of FILTER at three California shows next month, with more to follow leading up the album's release. The three confirmed dates are:
March 02 - San Diego, CA - The Casbah
March 03 - Orangevale, CA - Boardwalk
March 04 - San Francisco, CA - Cafe DuNord
